HUMAN LIBRARY

SEPTEMBER 28, 2023 Bermuda National Library, Hamilton 6:00 - 9:00pm

The Human Library® creates a safe space for dialogue where topics are discussed openly between our human books and their readers. All of our human books are volunteers with personal experience with their topic. The Human Library® is a place where honest conversations occur, usually with people we don’t have an opportunity to converse with in our every day lives.

Every human book from our bookshelf, represents a group in our society that is often subjected to prejudice, stigmatisation or discrimination because of their lifestyle, diagnosis, belief, disability, social status, ethnic origin etc.

“In each 30 minute interaction between Reader & Book, questions are expected, encouraged and appreciated. Be curious & ask questions . . . If we never ask, how can we ever learn? As long as your questions come from a place of respect, our Books are more than happy to answer them all! This way we might be able to understand one another better.” Ronnie Abergel, Founder The Human Library.
