#WalkTogetherBermuda, was inspired by The Elders - independent global leaders brought together by Nelson Mandela, who offer their collective influence and experience to support peace building, help address major causes of human suffering and promote the shared interests of humanity.
On July 18, 2017 to celebrate 10 years of being together, The Elders created #WalkTogether in order to do something positive to overcome growing intolerance and polarization in societies.
#WalkTogether exists as a platform for celebrating freedoms and building a bright map of hope. It is a joining of forces to champion the voices - and deeds - of groups who live the values of empathy, compassion and solidarity in the work they do to improve their lives, and those of their communities.
#WalkTogetherBermuda is aligned with this vision and is a community collaboration to walk beside each other & have conversations that make a difference. #WalkTogetherBermuda is an invitation to walk in someone else’s shoes; to connect with someone you might not normally talk with – to share your story & listen to someone else’s story with respect and an open heart. When this happens compassion & empathy grow.
Let’s engage with each other & break down the barriers . . . here is an opportunity to value our differences & to discover similarities and celebrate them!
Join the growing community of collaborators who have linked arms to walk together for Bermuda to stop the fear and hatred that divide us.
#WalkTogetherBermuda comes from a place of love & seeks to create a connected & flourishing Bermuda that unites us all.
